Halstead and Colne Valley District has 5 scout groups and 2 Explorer Scout Units. There is an affiliation of the Explorer Scouts and the Hedinghams Branch of the Royal British Legion. Each group has a Scout Troop and Cub Pack, and many now have Beaver Colonies as well. The district covers the town of Halstead and the villages surrounding it. Throughout the year the district has many events, ranging from St. George's Day parades to Night Hikes, and from Swimming Gala's to Cooking Competitions all of which are very enjoyable and fun occasions.
The District of Halstead and Colne Valley is found within the north west of the county of Essex. Essex is found in Eastern England (East Anglia). We compete in many County events as well, these consist of Hikes to Camp and again these are all very enjoyable, fun occasions.
